Community guidelines
How we treat each other.
Last updated
In short
Wasla works because members trust each other. Be real, be generous with your time, respect everyone, keep what’s shared inside the community — and tell us when something isn’t right.
Be yourself
- Use your real name and a photo of yourself, or none at all.
- Describe your studies and work honestly — members rely on it when they help you.
- One person, one account.
Respect everyone
Our community is diverse: Arab and Amazigh, from every region of Morocco and from the diaspora, of every faith or none, every gender and background. Treat everyone with the respect you’d want for your own family.
- No harassment, insults, threats or intimidation — in public or in private.
- No discrimination or hate, including on origin, region, language, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
- No unwanted romantic or sexual advances. Wasla is not a dating platform.
Ask well, answer kindly
When you ask for an introduction
- Be specific: what you’d like help with, and why this person.
- Keep it short and polite. A clear request of three sentences beats a long life story.
- One follow-up at most. Silence is an answer — please accept it gracefully.
When you receive one
- Reply when you can. Declining is always fine, and you don’t need to explain.
- If you accept, share only the contact details you’re comfortable with.
- Remember what it felt like to arrive. A 15-minute call can change someone’s year.
Posts, groups and messages
- Share what helps: questions, tips, events, wins. Before posting, ask whether it’s useful to the community.
- Disagree with ideas, never with people. Keep discussions on topic and in good faith.
- Group managers set the tone of their group and may remove posts or members that don’t fit. Be fair when you manage one.
- Messages are for people you’re connected with. Keep them as respectful as you would in person, and take a no for an answer.
- Never post anyone’s contact details, private messages or personal situation without their permission.
Referrals are a promise
- Only ask for referrals to roles you are genuinely qualified for and interested in.
- Members refer people they can vouch for — no one owes you a referral.
- Never misrepresent a referral, a conversation or a member’s support.
What’s shared here stays here
- Don’t copy, screenshot or share members’ profiles or messages outside Wasla.
- Use contact details only for the introduction they were shared for.
- Never add members to mailing lists, groups or channels without their permission.
Keep it useful
- No spam, selling, multi-level marketing or recruiting blasts.
- No political or religious campaigning, and no fundraising without the moderators’ agreement.
- Opportunities must be real, lawful and free for candidates.
Report and block
If something feels wrong, report it from the member’s profile, the post, comment, message, group, introduction or opportunity. Reports are confidential: the member is never told who reported them. When you report a message, moderators see that message only. You can also block anyone — they won’t be able to see you, your posts or your messages, or contact you, and they won’t be told.
If you are in danger, contact the police first: 117 in Switzerland, or 112 anywhere in Europe.
How moderation works
Our moderators review every report. Depending on what happened, they may remove content, send a warning, limit features, or suspend or end a membership. Serious harm leads to immediate suspension.
You can ask for a decision to be reviewed by writing to hello@wasla.ch. See the Terms for the formal rules.
